The short version: We collect as little as possible. We share nothing. We are, quite literally, building a product that protects your data from people who treat it as a commodity. We take that seriously here too.
Who we are: The Good Con is the home of the book series by the same name and the future home of an app designed to remove your personal data from data broker databases. This privacy policy covers our website at getthegoodcon.com and our waitlist and email communications.
What we collect and why: Your email address, only if you choose to join our waitlist. We use it to send you updates about the book series and the app. Nothing else. No third party ever sees it. Basic website analytics, we may collect anonymised data about how visitors use our site, including pages visited, time spent, and general location by country. This helps us understand what is working. It does not identify you personally.
What we do not do: We do not sell your data. We do not rent it, trade it, or share it with advertisers. We do not use it to build a profile of you. We do not send it offshore. We are building a product that exists because other companies did exactly these things. We have no interest in doing the same.
Email communications: If you join our waitlist you will receive occasional updates about The Good Con book series and app. Every email includes an unsubscribe link. One click and you are gone, no questions asked. We use a reputable email service provider to send communications. They process your email address on our behalf and are contractually prohibited from using it for any other purpose.
Cookies: Our website is built on Wix and uses essential cookies necessary for the site to function correctly. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. If you are visiting from the EU, you will be asked for consent before any non-essential cookies are placed on your device. You can adjust cookie preferences in your browser settings at any time.
Your rights: You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to request its deletion, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights contact us at the email address below. We will respond within 30 days.
Data security: We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. No system is completely secure but we treat this with the seriousness the subject deserves.
Children: Our website and services are not directed at anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
Changes to this policy: If we make material changes we will notify waitlist subscribers by email and update the date at the top of this page.
